First Lieutenant Eric A. Lakes, pilot of "Daylight Two Three", departed Morotai at 0610 to search for a pilot reported down about two miles West of the Southern tip of Kaboeroeang Island. Lieutenant Lakes proceeded to the area and sighted a survivor in a life raft with sea markers at 03°48'N, 126°55'E. Lieutenant Lakes landed his rescue plane, took the survivor, Lieutenant Alford, 82nd Recon Squadron, aboard and returned him to his base. Lieutenant Alford was in good condition having gone down on the preceding evening as a result of engine trouble.

0740:	Contacted Bubble Special, who sighted Snafu pilot about 5 minutes later, Altitude 500 feet, visibility good. Landed and effected rescue. Snafu pilot was in life raft, with sea marker visible. Position 03°48'N, 126°55'E about two miles West of South tip of Kaboeroeang Island.
0925::	Landed at home base
