Lieutenant
Walter H. Boggs and his wife Edna Laverne (Stevens) just before he shipped
overseas. He died of "tropical fever" on 29 October 1944 in Hollandia,
New Guinea. It was also called "the crud."
He was brought
back and buried on 27 June 1948 in the
Romine Prarie Cemetery in Kell, Illinois.
